Lynchburg Exile’s three components—prosecution, partnership, and outreach—have each contributed to the overall success of the program. From its beginnings, one of Lynchburg Exile’s main objectives has been to increase public awareness concerning gun violence and to enlist the community’s support in preventing further crimes involving firearms. City bus, billboard, newspaper, and television advertising have proven effective in getting Exile’s message out to the public and engaging citizens to report guns on the street.
