Today a Lynchburg grand jury indicted Clayton Calvin Martin, Jr. for the murder of Jamishia Lanise Jackson. This crime took place on January 5, 2005 at the James River Crossing apartments.
In addition to murder, Martin was indicted for using a firearm in the commission of murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and shooting into an occupied vehicle. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Cary Payne and Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Janell Johnson. Martin is represented by Amherst attorney Greg Smith. The case is scheduled for a jury trial on July 26, 2005.
